- Use the radio buttons to indicate if you want AutoFormat to work without stopping for your input, or not.

At this point, AutoFormat works its magic and your document is 'reformatted' to appear as it would have if you had typed it yourself.

You can turn off auto bullet or numbering in Outlook as follows.
Step 1. Open the Outlook Options dialog box.
1. In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click File > Options.
2. If you are using Outlook 2007, please click Tools > Options.
Step 2. Open the Editor Options dialog box.
1. In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the Mail in the left bar, and then click the Spelling and Autocorrect button in the Compose messages section.

The arrows appear between the '1. --- ' and the beginning of the sentence. Imagine an arrow in place of the dashed line in the previous sentence. When I put in a 1. want it to do nothing and let me number. BTW it does a terrible job of auto formatting and hence why have tried so hard to turn it off.
This article does not work it is out of date, there simply is no 'File'. Please explain how to turn it off with current version of Outlook. Again there is no 'File' to open the menu of. At the bottom of the page there is 7 icon choices, but none that says 'no auto formatting' Please help anyone on how to tirn off teh formatting on numbers now in 2018.
